Fire Escape!

Let us know how the activity went today for you, what role did you play, where you blind folded, how was that?  What interpersonal trait did you focus on and where you able to display it during the activity? Where you able to display it during the rest of your day?

  1. I thought the activity went well. I was someone who climbed over in the beginning and then cheered people on as they came over. I focused on being positive and I think I was able to display it by encouraging people who were crawling over to the other side. Overall I think we worked really well together as a group.

  2. I think that this activity was both fun and interesting. We worked really well as group. Although I was not blindfolded, I did go over and then cheer for people. I focused on being supportive and positive throughout the activity. I displayed this by cheering for the people that went over. Also, I think that I was positive to some extent during the rest of my day.

  3. I thought everyone in our group did a great job of working together, combining talents of leadership and physics knowledge to try and get our group across the boards. I tried to follow the ideal of being supportive in words and actions to my group members by speaking encouragingly and using my hands to voice to lead the kids who were blindfolded. Yes, I had two concerts on Friday afternoon and it's always easy for me to play a supportive role when I'm singing/playing music with others.

  4. The activity during the first round went awesomely for my group and I! I just helped to support people handling the planks or held the planks myself; sometimes it was better for me to just stand out of the way, though.I was blinded for the second round and that was difficult since there was so much talking and I wasn't confident in what I was supposed to be doing. The trait I displayed was support in the group through actions and words, which I believe I did show through my day later at my house!

  5. The activity went well, i thought once we made a plan of action the activity went really smoothly. i wasn't blindfolded, but it seemed hard for the people that were! i tried to keep them updated on what was going on since they couldn't see it for themselves. i focused on cooperation - i displayed that the whole time by helping where i could and being supportive of everyone. after class i showed cooperation by doing what my mom asked me; like take my dog out, etc. because i usually don't..hahah but i did friday! that's what counts.

  6. Overall, I would say the activity went well. Everyone seemed to show support and we seemed to work well as a team. I worked on being positive throughout the activity by cheering on my team mates and staying optimistic when it seemed like we were never going to get over. I would say I stayed positive the entire time.I also believe I took my positive attitude with me when I left.

  8. I think our group did a pretty good job doing the fire escape. If any one had an idea it was shared to the whole group so everyone was on the same page. Of course this is a little easier with a smaller group of people. Unfortunately two people died during the activity but thats ok haha, they took one for the team. For the most part i was holding down the boards so people could walk or crawl across. my trait was being supportive, i probably could have worked on that a little more but overall everyone in our group was very supportive.

  9. I think the activity went well although we only got to make it over once, but i was going to be blind folded the second time. I focused on staying positive and although it looked really hard in the beginning i was POSITIVE that we could do it. My group did very well and im sure we would have made it back a second time even with the blind folds.

  10. I enjoyed this activity. Since I was focusing on being positive, I climbed over near the beginning and then encouraged others. I was blindfolded, but unfortunately did not get the chance to to climb over. I'd love to continue this activity so I could get the chance.

  11. Overall the activity went smoothly and I enjoyed it. I was blindfolded and it was a bit difficult to know what was going on around me, but I eventually got used to it and it was actually pretty fun to go across blindfolded. I worked on being supportive and trying to contribute more than I usually do, and I think it went pretty well, though it was a little bit harder to do while being blindfolded.

  12. I really liked doing this activity--it's nice to do something like this once in a while because I think it really helps us get back on track so we don't forget what the point of trust is in climbing. For it, I was blindfolded but I never got to go across but it was still frustrating because I wasn't able to tell what was goin on and I felt very lonely not being able to see anyone :( I was working on integrity during the activity which I thought worked out well in the beginning of the activity but didn't work out so well when I was blindfolded. I had nothing to do so I just sat and talked and did basically nothing while whatever was goin on was goin on. But other than that I had a lot of fun and would definitely want to do more of these kinds of things once in a while!

  13. I think this activity was a good thing since it has been a while since a team-building activity. It was an overall success, and I did my best to be positive. Admittingly, I was also sarcastically positive, but I did try. It was really fun and interesting since I had to keep the boards down. To be honest, I truthfully think this went better than other team-building activities because we were in smaller groups. It worked out though.

  16. I thought it was a fun and different activity. I was one of the people whi was blind folded and it was an entirely different experience. You could hear things going on around you and nobody would explain anything that was going on. I felt helpless and people could easly forget we were blindfolded. It was actually easier then I thought to crawl across the boards. I felt fearless because I didnt know when I would fall. I worked om supporting others as they went across and having a positive attitude. It was a fun experience.

  18. I liked it, it was fun and entertaining. I tried to stay positive and involved and that went well. I was one of the last ones to go so I cheered on those who got across before me and helped out whenever I could. As for the blind fold part, our group didn't exactly make it that far but that's mostly because we ran out of time.
