For me personally, i really dont think i have any concerns about this unit because i trust my group and we all get along very well. I actually really like how we do climbing later in the year because i can honestly say that i feel alot closer to my classmates and i feel like were all friends in this class so it makes trusting them on something like this much easier. My expectation is to do better than i did at reppelling. This doesnt scare me as much as rappelling did so i hope this unit will be super fun :) -zoe kempton
I really like the climbing unit. It is really fun. I also really trust everyone in the class because I feel like we have really bonded and I am starting to really get to know people. I have no concerns about Climbing so far. - Selby Rose MacGillivray
I don't have any concerns. This unit is going to be a lot of fun and a new challenge to take on. I am always nervous at first, but by the second time it is fun and relaxing. This class has been a great experience so far and I cannot wait to climb. -Paige Candra
For climbing, I have no concerns. I really like our group and I feel like I trust them fully. Of course, I will be a little nervous the first time I try climbing but I think climbing will be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to it. I feel like our class is getting really close and that will make climbing easier! Ashley Kozanda
Personally, I don't have any concerns about climbing. This time I expect myself to be more willing to climb and fall because I think that I got kind of used to it when we did rappelling. Also, I hope that I am able to actually have fun with it rather than thinking I need to do this so I can just get it over with. Overall though it's been a great experience and I can't wait to do more! - Priya Patel
The only concern I have about this unit is the possibility of getting a sprained ankle because I need to get better this season in track and a sprained ankle isnt really going to help that. I trust my group and kinda myself its just the possibility that concerns me. I'm still really excited to climb and i really want to jump off the celling platform.
I am concerned about baleighing because I literally don't trust myself baleighing and holding someone up just by myself, especially because i am a lefty. I would also rather move to the wall to climb because the ladders are kind of tough to climb up, at least for me. Variety is always a good thing.
I really like climbing and I also liked falling too. It was fun, but I'm also a little concerned about belaying because I'm not really good at it, and I don't trust myself with someone else's life, and I don't like getting hurt, so I don't really want to hurt myself from belaying either.
I've enjoyed climbing thus far. As I'm not particularly coordinated, I know this is going to be a challenge. That said, I'm excited for this unit. I'm honestly more nervous for belaying than climbing. Having someone else's life in your hands is a big responsibility, and that worries me. -Elizabeth Davies
i really like the climbing unit so far, the falling part is kinda scary but i trust everyone in my group so i'm not very concerned about it. i'd like to try out the walls and not only climb the ladders, i feel like those would be more beneficial too.
This climbing unit is really fun and really pushes my upper body strength, which I admit I have minamally. The only thing is is that I wish somehow in this unit we could help each other to push each other to accomplish what we need to because encouraging words seem to only go so far. So I expect myself both to build more upper body strength, and also help others to achieve our set goals!! Becca Tham
Going into climbing I do not have any questions or concerns. Personally, I expect myself to take risks and challenge myself even more than I did during rapelling. I'm looking forward to all the new things we will be doing and I can't wait to climb again. -Assunta De Pau
the climbing was fun although i did have to squeeze my feet into karens shoes(ouch)but i was scared at first even as assuntas support because i didnt expect her to fly off the ground and me have to pull her back, but it was over all fun to climb and trust my group so much to catch me if i fell.(hope i dont) nicole bishop
Personally, I'm really excited to climb. Repelling was really fun for me so I think that climbing will be even better. My only concern is that when we start climbing I don't want to climb on the white rope/hoop thingy that my group was climbing on before. It was awkward and I would much rather climb on the wall. I'm guessing that we won't be using those anymore..? I dunno, since I've never rock climbed in class before, obviously. The knots are really easy and I trust everyone in the class so no concerns there. I just really wanna start climbing on Thursday.
If you asked me this a month ago, I would have to say I would be really concerned because I felt so out of placed while everyone had gotten to know each other for an entire semester. But after spending a few weeks with the class, I can confidently say that I have little to no concerns because everyone is serious about safety but still knows how to have fun. My only concern is trusting my self because I'm not good at being put on the spot, especially when it involves consequences that others have to face due to my actions or mistakes. Hopefully that can be fixed when we start climbing more.
I love climbing!! super fun and exciting. I'm a little nervous about getting allthe way to the top of the wall only because I have to put a lot of trust in my team but I trust the system and hopefully they care about me falling as much as I do! Other than that I'm super excited to climb the more difficult walls and definitley jump from the ledge like marcus did.
I'm pretty stoked for climbing. I dont really have any concerns. Its so much different than rappelling because the climber controls most of what's going on and you can decide whats your game plan. With rappelling, it's kinda like here's a wall. But theres alot you can do with climbing.
Climbing is really fun, I havent climbed any of the walls yet but i cant wait to because i find it really fun to do challenging activities. I have no concerns with my group because i can trust them and know that they wont let me or anybody else in our group fall get hurt. SUPER PUMPED :D
