Trust Fall

How did this week go for you with the different trust falls that we did? What was more challenging for you falling, catching, laying down under faller?  What did you learn about yourself and your classmates after doing this activity?

  1. This week, I think that the trust falls went well. I think that at first we weren't use to it, but we definitely have become better. My group struggled a little bit in the beginning, but we were able to learn from our mistakes. Personally, I found that the falling was probably the most challenging for me. The reason for this is because, at first, I wasn't sure if my group would catch me or if they were even paying attention. I was scared of being dropped, but was pleasantly surprised when I was not. I learned to trust my group throughout the activity and it helped me understand how everyone was feeling exactly same, so there was really nothing to be scared of.

  2. I thought the trust falls this week were fun and overall went well. I think the most challenging part for me was falling because once you get on the block its higher than you think. But, once I went I knew I could trust everyone in my group and it was no big deal to do it again. I thought it was a good activity to help build our trust as classmates even more.

  3. I really liked the trust falls we did in class but I wish our group could have moved faster. We would take our time and only get through a few people a period. I wasn't able to lay under the faller, so the scariest part for me was falling. As a catcher, my life wasn't on the line, but I knew I could catch the person falling. As a faller, though, I didn't have that sense of security and I actually had to depend on my group to catch me. These falling activities helped me get a better sense of how class is going to go from here on out, but next time we do an activity I want to stay more on task to get things done at a reasonable time.

  4. For me, falling was the toughest part of this activity. It takes more trust to fall rather than to catch someone. When you're falling you have to trust others to keep you safe, but when you are catching, you rely on yourself and trust yourself (which is easier to do) to catch the person falling. I was pretty scared to fall at first, and I thought it was really hard to keep tight because a person's first instinct is to cave in and to protect their head from injury when falling. It was tough for me to get over this fear, but I think this activity really helped me to trust people in the class more.

  5. For me, the trust falls were the scariest thing we have done yet. I felt like I was setting myself up for death. Falling was definitly worse than catching for me. Falling felt like I was falling off a tall building. I learned that my classmates are extremely trustworthy, and they will catch me no matter what. I learned about myself that I have the capability to do things I never thought I would do.

  6. This past week with trust falls has been a lot of fun. I thought the hardest part for me was laying under the taller because I personally thought I wouldn't freak out, but our of instinct I did anyways. Through this activity I learned that everyone has different comfort levels and for some it takes more time than others. I thought it was a great bonding activity and it made me even more excited for the stuff to come.

  7. Personally, I thought this activity was really fun. I really liked falling because 1) I trusted my group wholeheartedly in catching me, so I knew I was gonna be safe and 2) It was a challenge, one that I knew I could overcome. So when I fell the first time, I was really happy. Since I liked falling, that means that catching was the hardest for me, since I was never put into the position of the person on the ground. Catching was hardest for me, because I didn't want to drop/ injure the person that was falling.

  8. Well im not gonna lie this trust fall thing i thought it was gonna be easy but when i stepped up there and saw how high up i felt i was i said to myself "shit this isn't gonna end pretty" but i faced my fears and i did it and all i gotta say is it feels great overcoming your fears and falling was for sure the hardest for me because catching i knew i could catch them.

  9. I was really nervous to do the trust fall. Not because I didn't think I was going to be caught just because I am kind of scared of heights. Falling backwards was really nerve racking. I learned that I can trust my classmates to catch me though and I think that will help make things easier in the future.

  10. trust falls are obviously not my thing since I wont do them in class. for this activity, you have to really trust people and I have a hard time doing that when my fate is in someone elses hands. Ill be fine in this class whether im able to do the trust falls or not I think. I learned that my classmates are very encouraging and try their best to keep everyone safe and are able to take their own risks.

  11. I think this was the most difficult activity for me to do. I did not like falling and although I did trust my group to catch me I was not able to fall completely straight. I did not fall when there was someone laying down or when the group would count down because i still cold not even successfully accomplish eh first task when I just fell. Hopefully if we do the activity i again i will be able to fall the right way no matter what the conditions of the activity are. I learned that I am more afraid of falling then being high up in the air which to me are now completely different. I also learned that everyone is more brave than me !

  12. i felt catching the person was the hardest part because the person is trusting you to catch them and if you dont then there is a problem, but it was fun.i felt our group was worried about catching people more than falling.i learned that i can trust the people in the class to help me and focuse when we jump from the shelf

  14. This week was a very good learning experience. I learned that I trust people easily and it isn't hard for me to put my trust in others. It might be that I'm used to falling and heights from cheerleading but I was fairly comfortable when having to fall. The part that worried me the most, and i'm sure others would agree, was stage three. Even though you knew your classmates would be there to catch you, your mind played tricks on you and made you hesitate and wonder if they really would come back! I noticed for others it wasn't as easy to trust and to fall but eventually everyone in my group had fallen so I was really proud of everyone for doing the activity!

  15. HonestlY at first I was a scared to fall, even though I knew they would catch me. You always have that question in your head of what if. But once I fell the first time it was easier to keep falling. It was actually a lot of fun. I think it was a good experience and a fun way to learn to put your trust in others.

  16. This week I felt was a lot more intense, but in more of an emotional and trusting manner. I feel like catching and laying under the fallee was a lot more worse than the actual falling. I felt like if I messed up my part of holding the person that would be a lot worse than me getting hurt cause it's just me. I learned that some people really feel as if falling/trusting someone is one of the worst things in the world and now I can sympathise.

  17. I had a really good time with this activity. I believe that people are really getting to know and get along with eachother. For me personally i didnt have any sort of problems with falling or catching. I had complete trust in my group to catch me and others falling. I do realize it's not that easy for some people and i really hope as a class we can help whoever may be uncomfortable in trusting the class to catch them safely.

  18. Trust falls were a really good experience. People are beginning to I guess trust eachother and know how to work together better. At first I was nervous about falling because ya knOw your falling but after the first time it was actually fun. I didn't have a problem with catching or putting people down. I learned that at first everyone really didn't trust anyone catching them but as it went on mostly everyone actually fell and it ended up working out well. I learned that I can easily put full trust in everyone be aide I know if they were in my place they wouldn't want to get hurt and so hopefully wouldnt want me to get hurt.

  19. I actually found trust falls really fun. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and it was a totally new experience for me. I think the most challenging part for me was catching because I have absolutely no upper body strength and I kept feeling nervous when I saw a person fall. I learned that I was able to fall comfortably while trusting my classmates to be there for me as I fall. It definitely strengthened my trust on the class.

  20. For me, falling was the hardest part because i had to put my life in the hands of my classmates and trust that they would catch me and not let me crash to the ground and die. It was challenging because i'm not used to putting that amount of trust into others very often, but i got through it and fell back and landed safely in everyone's arms.

  21. I think the trust falls went really well, they were really fun and for the most part we did a really good job with getting people to go. Falling wasn't too bad for me i thought it was a lot of fun. Good activity for building trust.

  22. I thought the trust falls were generally a good exercise. I definitely had trouble keeping my body tight as I fell, but I improved as the falls went on. I would attribute this to a greater sense of trust for my classmates and thought the falls were actually somewhat fun

  24. I was actually absent the day we did the bigger trust fall, but I did the one from ground level and it went well, but other than that I cant really comment for the above ground level.
