Look at the trait of responsibility and choose one of the 7 descriptors that you would like to work on next week during class. What descriptor did you choose? Why? How are you going to work on it?
I take personal responsibility for my own actions.
I fullfill my responsibilty to be engaged in daily activities.
I find value in evrything I do.
I am persistent in all my tasks even when they are challenging.
I am willing and able to seize an opportunity when it presents itself.
I can calm myself when upset.
I take a positive attitude towrd myself when facing adverse situations.
The descriptor I choose is "I am persistent in all my tasks even when they are challenging" because I know one of my biggest problems is that I slack when everything starts to get complicated or stressful, just like in Thursday's giant rope activity. I try to get everything done fast, like untangling, but then when I can't figure it out right away I just wait for someone else to fill up my lack of effort. I need to tell myself to keep that effort up, and be responsible for my contribution to the team in that way!

One of the things on the list that I find myself struggling with is being persistent and continuing to try to communicate at my fullest on all of the tasks, because a lot of the time I find myself either goofing off when I'm bored or getting irritated when things don't work out right away. Sometimes I'll even just give up and let other people figure things out for me. Like with the spoon activity today I decided I couldn't figure it out and just sat back. That makes me sound really bad but it's true... Obviously what I could do is stay focused, on task, and keep a positive attitude. Most of the time I have a positive attitude anyway but its the combination of overall mood and work that has a stable momentum of persistence.

I think it can be tricky trying to stay persistent with something for an certain amount of time. We could see this easily with the Up Chuck activity, people easily got distracted and dropped the ball. This is somethingi think we all could work on, some more than others. But i know i need to work at it a little more. I think the only way to truly stay persistent about something is to just give it your all.

Being persistent in ALL tasks, even when challenging, is a challenge in itself. Sometimes it's hard for people to concentrate, and sometimes, people get impatient and give up. Persistence is something that I feel the entire class should work on including me, because it's hard to stay in the game when people are goofing off. Also, when people mess up, I think the class and myself could work on patience and understanding, so we can get the task done quicker and easier.

I will fulfill my responsibility to be engaged in daily activities. I chose this descriptor because I feel like I'm not very engaged in all the activities I do, so I'm planning on being more involved. Plus, I feel like I just stand and stare off to space sometimes. I'm going to work on this by participating more, giving ideas, and just being positive & active overall. I'll try to encourage others when they're about to give up so that the negativity won't get the best of us.

Personally, I think that "I find value in evrything I do" is something that I would feel the need to work on. Sometimes I feel like I just do things because I have to and I don't find any special meaning in doing it. I just think it needs to be done and get it over with. I work on it by trying to find some sort of value you in it, whether it is a large value or something small. I can also try to make connections with the activities and try to see how it will help in the future.

I feel what I need to work on is staying persistent throughout challenging and easy tasks. It seems we have trouble staying focused on tasks when they take a long time to complete. I feel like if we practice staying focused and persistent then maybe instead of getting side traked and the activivty taking longer we would complete it quicker as long as we are persistent.

"I find value in evrything I do." I think is an important concept that I'd like to work on. It's our job as students to continually learn and grow, and trying to understand what we can get out of an activity is helpful in that.

I think I need to work on being more engaged in the daily activities. A lot of the time I just expect others to accomplish the tasks, and just follow along without thinking through the task, or I just don't pay attention sometimes. I should focus more on the task at hand, and not rely on everyone else to fulfill the task and play my part.

I need to work on being more engaged in daily activities. I chose this because i usually just go along with the flow and expect others to show me what to do because I'm to lazy to pay attention ( i know it's pretty sad)and ima try and set a goal to speak up and try and get an idea across to everyone in one of the activities we do this week.

I sometime struggle with 'finding value in everything I do' I think I struggle with this because I start just doing things because I'm required to and not because I have a desire to do something. I will work in finding value in what I do by maintaining a positive attitude throuhout the week in class and being excited and ready to work hard and put forth effort each day in class.

Personally, I need to work on "I am willing and able to seize an opportunity when it presents itself." I always think things through too much and if I see a possibility, I have to ponder about it before acting. Usually, the opportunity as already passed by the time I've made my decision. All the others are easy, but this one thing is quite difficult due to my strong sense of logic.

ReplyDeleteThe descriptor that i choose id "I find value in everything i do" because most of the time i just do the activities but dont pay attention to the meaning behind them, and if your not gonna pay attention to the meaning behind the things you do than you wont learn anything and you might as well not even do them.
ReplyDeleteVlad Gheorghiu
I choose "I find value in everything i do" Because sometimes i really dont pay attention in class and i never really know the meaning behind what we are doin but i have set a goal for myself to change that and pay more attention in class.
ReplyDeleteMarcus Wood
I take a positive attitude towrd myself when facing adverse situations. I chose this because I want to be able to be positive and fully enjoy activities. Sometimes I give up on ideas and dont try to contribute ideas to the activity but I really want to try to be very postive and keep working on an activity until we as a class have figured it out.
ReplyDeleteCristina Mursuli
i need to work one persictence because when i find something challeging i probobly wont want to do it or be one of the last ones to so i want to get better at that and have fun instead of being the one complainging most of the time.
ReplyDeletejoanna andrade
I personally need to work in finding value in everything I do. I tend to be the cynical one who picks apart the meaning of everything we do in class just for the sake of doing it. Sometimes, I need to step back and realize that excessive use of sarcasm and mocking everything that comes my way isn't always in the class's best interests. I need to learn to truly value the lessons I'm taught.
ReplyDelete-Elizabeth Davies
I would like to work on "I take a positive attitude towards myself when facing adverse situations" because I find that I will get discouraged not with the task or with other classmates but with myself. I need to be able to keep a positive attitude towards myself even if I am not able to complete the task as I would like to. I need to be able to overcome this challenge and be more confident when the task is challenging.
ReplyDeleteAshley Kozanda
I think that I need to work on being persistent in challenging activities. I give up kinda easily, if i think that something is too hard. I would like to work on my endurance and patience. I guess that the only way to work on endurance and patience is to practice it constantly. I think that I will be given the environment to do just that in this class.
ReplyDeleteKim Wagner
Being persistant in all activities even when they're hard because I'm not a quitter, but when activities are hard I don't work as hard as i know i can since i figure i won't do too hot anyways. So this week when we do a hard activity I'll be sure to keep trying my hardest the whole way through!
ReplyDelete~abby tski
i chose the being positive one, i will get better by trying harder in this class
ReplyDeleteCasey Smith
I find value in evrything I do.
ReplyDeleteBy 8th period I'm so worn out from school and doing activities or fitness in gym isn't my top choice. This usually means I'm not paying attention or trying to see the value of the activies, however this week I'll try to be more attentive and look for what I'm getting out of the activity.
Emily Lee
I fulfill my responsibility to be engaged in daily activities
ReplyDeleteIn the beginning of activities I tend to be involved in activities but as it becomes more difficult or if the activity starts to take a lot of time i become impatient and less attentive. This week i will try to pay attention more and do my part in the activities.
Amber Prieto
i chose "i fufill my responsibiity to be engaged in daily activities". i chose this one because it fits me the best and its something i can easily follow. i think its important that i contribute to class everyday because thats what is expected of me and i plan to follow through with this by always trying my hardest in the activities, fully paying attention to what were assigned to do and never just be lazy in the activities.
